Central 47, Griggsville-Perry 34: The Panthers outscored the Tornadoes 16-8 in the second quarter to take control. Isaac Genenbacher led the Panthers with 17 points, while Tate Kunzeman scored 13 points for the Tornadoes.

Girls basketball

At Moline, Ill.

Moline 43, Quincy High School 39: The Blue Devils had their Western Big 6 Conference three-game win streak snapped after scoring just eight points in the first half against the Maroons. Moline outscored Quincy 19-4 in the second quarter. Laci Novosel led the Blue Devils with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Quincy falls to 10-9 overall and 6-7 in the WB6.

Brown County 58, Greenfield-Northwestern 27: The Hornets outscored the Tigers 21-4 in the first quarter and never trailed. Kaci McKeon made four 3-pointers and led the Hornets with 19 points. Katey Flynn added 16 points for Brown County, while Gabby McGath scored 12 points.

At Charles Field House, Canton, Mo.

Missouri Valley College 68, Culver-Stockton College 66: A 12-point halftime lead evaporated as the Wildcats struggled to score in the second half of the Heart of America Athletic Conference matchup. C-SC led 42-30 at halftime after shooting 53 percent from the field and making 8 of 15 3-pointers. In the second half, the Wildcats shot just 30.8 percent and went 1 of 8 from 3-point range. Jalen Blaize’s jumper gave C-SC a 66-63 lead with 1:34 to go, but the Vikings’ Jace Lance hit a jumper with 1:14 to play and Jonathan Hall gave Missouri Valley the lead with a jumper with 18 seconds to go. The Wildcats missed their final three shots. Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor led C-SC with 27 points, while Blaize had 14. The Wildcats are 14-10 overall and 5-10 in the Heart.

Women’s basketball

At Neil Carey Arena, Romeoville, Ill.

Lewis 57, Quincy University 55: The Hawks tried mightily to climb out of a double-digit first quarter deficit, but falling behind 20-6 proved to be too much to overcome in the Great Lakes Valley Conference matchup. Dami Adeyinka led the Hawks with 17 points, while Beth Matas Martin had 15 points and seven assists. Quincy fell to 6-16 overall and 2-12 in the GLVC.

At Student Activity Center, Quincy

Danville 59, John Wood Community College 48: The Trail Blazers went 4 of 14 from the field and 4 of 13 from the free-throw line in suffering the Mid-West Athletic Conference loss. The Jaguars scored 38 points in the paint and 23 points off the Trail Blazers’ 32 turnovers. Lenlee Klusman and Stephanie Anders led JWCC with 10 points apiece. The Trail Blazers are 7-13 overall and 1-4 in the MWAC.

At Charles Field House, Canton, Mo.

Missouri Valley College 60, Culver-Stockton College 52: After building a 20-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats were outscored in each of the final three quarters and suffered a Heart of America Athletic Conference loss. The Wildcats went 0 of 10 from 3-point range in the second half. Addison Newbon led the Wildcats with 17 points. C-SC drops to 12-12 overall and 6-9 in the Heart.
