Highland Tournament

Palmyra 49, Knox County 42: The fourth-seeded Panthers outscored the fifth-seeded Eagles 20-9 in the second quarter and used it as a springboard to the semifinals. Bear Bock led the Panthers with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Laydin Lochman added 13 points as Palmyra coach Brian Rea picked up his 300th career victory.

Highland 69, Scotland County 47: Drew Mallett scored 18 of his game-high 26 points in the first half as the third-seeded Cougars advanced to the semifinals. Highland led 32-20 at halftime and then scored 24 points in the third quarter.

Kirksville 73, Canton 50: Dalton Berhorst scored 17 points as Canton lost to the tournament’s top seed. Preston Brewer added 13 points for Canton.

At Camp Point, Ill.

Central 52, Southeastern 34: Nick Moore and Breyhar Wiskirchen combined for 25 points in the second half to power the Panthers to the victory. Moore finished with 19 points, while Wiskirchen added 14. They combined to make five 3-pointers in the second half. Ramsey Fry led the Suns with 22 points.

At Mount Sterling, Ill.

Brown County 66, Calhoun 49: Balance carried the Hornets, who are ranked seventh in Class 1A, as five different players scored in the pivotal third quarter and five finished in double figures. The Hornets outscored the Warriors 17-11 in the third quarter to take a 13-point lead into the final stanza. Gabby McGath led Brown County with 15 points, while Kaci McKeon had 13 points, Klare Flynn had 12 and Katey Flynn and Gracie Hedden each had 11.

At Clarksville, Mo.

Clopton Invitational

Elsberry 30, Monroe City 16: The Panthers scored one field goal in each of the first two quarters and lost in the tournament semifinals. Lucy Pratt led Monroe City with four points.

Quincy High School 46, Quincy Notre Dame 24: The Blue Devils won four consecutive matches in the middle weights to take control of the match. Dillion Becker won by in 2:54 at 132 pounds, Gunner Derhake won by pin in 2:37 at 138, Eric McClelland won by pin in 55 seconds at 145 and Ty Moore won a 6-4 decision at 152. Kayden Garrett (170) and Max Miller (182) won by pin for the Blue Devils, while Bryer Newbold (195) won by major decision and Hugh Sharrow (113) won a decision. QND’s victories were both by pin — Curtis Steinkamp in 2:29 at 126 and Ryan Scheuermann in 3:32 at 120.

Quincy Notre Dame 54, Pittsfield 15: The Raiders won three matches by pin as Noah Clark (160), Ryan Darnell (195) and Steinkamp won. The Saukees won two matches by pin — Mason Davis at 170 and Tucker Cook at 182 — while Ethan Thompson won a 3-2 decision at 152.
