CANTON, Mo. — After making just seven of 31 shots in the first half, the Culver-Stockton College women’s basketball team outscored Graceland 25-5 in the third quarter and pulled away for a 60-42 victory in a Heart of America Athletic Conference game Wednesday night at Charles Field House.

Josie Landrum scored a career-high 14 points, Kaysie Newson had 11 and Taylor Green added 10 in the victory, which ended a four-game losing streak for the Wildcats (8-7, 2-4 in the Heart).

The Wildcats trailed 27-21 at the intermission. Graceland failed to record a field goal, missing all eight attempts, and was limited to five free throws in the quarter. C-SC forced a season-high 30 turnovers.

An old-fashioned three-point play by Kiana Ortiz off an offensive rebound with 1:48 to play in the third quarter capped a 20-3 run to start the second half.

Graceland, the lowest scoring team in the Heart of America at 50 points per game, lost its ninth consecutive game and dropped to 3-12, 0-6 in the Heart. Madilyn Seger led the Yellowjackets with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
