Illinois Central College 73, John Wood Community College 66: The Trail Blazers head into the postseason having lost back-to-back games after shooting just 31 percent from the field in the Mid-West Athletic Conference regular-season finale. The Trail Blazers went just 5 of 23 from 3-point range and missed 12 free throws. Jarvis Jennings led JWCC with 29 points. The Trail Blazers (16-12, 5-5 MWAC) will be the No. 3 seed in the Region 24 Tournament and play host to a first-round matchup Wednesday.

Illinois Central College 84, John Wood Community College 50: The No. 11 Cougars used balance and depth to pick up the Mid-West Athletic Conference victory. All 10 ICC players scored, grabbed a rebound and dished out an assist in the lop-sided victory. JWCC will be the eighth seed in the Region 24 Tournament and will play at top-seeded Lincoln Land on Wednesday.
College baseball

At Versailles, Mo.
John Wood Community College 7, Highland 5: Lucas Loos hit a three-run home run with two outs in the seventh inning to give the Trail Blazers the lead as they rallied from a 5-2 deficit to win in their final at-bat. Jose Alamazan threw five solid innings and Peyton Clampitt earned the save.
State Fair Community College 3, John Wood Community College 0: Ryan Foley allowed just two earned runs over six innings and struck out a career-high 11 batters, but the Trail Blazers struggled offensively to split the day.
College softball
At Jack C. Fisher Park, Owensboro, Ky.
Blue Ridge Battle: Quincy University split a pair of games, earning its first victory of the season with a 6-4 victory over Notre Dame College of Ohio. The Hawks lost 2-0 to Ashland in the opener. Against Notre Dame College, the Hawks scored two runs in the fourth to tie the game at 3 and then scored three times in the fifth to take the lead. Madeline Ruzicka had an RBI double, and two batters later, Mykah Hurley delivered a two-run single. Kaelyn Conger allowed three earned runs over six innings to earn the victory. Against Ashland, the Hawks were limited to four hits and allowed both runs to score in the second inning. Quincy is 1-8 overall.
Men’s Volleyball
At Penn Activity Center, Oskaloosa, Iowa
William Penn d. Culver-Stocton College: The second-ranked Statesmen rolled to a 25-20, 25-18, 25-18 victory in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. Akeel Oxley led the Wildcats with 12 kills. C-SC is 3-13 overall and 2-9 in the Heart.
