Schuck on a Truck: South Shelby’s Hammond, Wiseman discuss ribeyes, success and big games

SHELBINA, Mo. — Kevin Hammond delivered like a champion, just as the South Shelby football team had.

Thursday night, the father of Cardinals running back Kendal Hammond followed through on a promise to cook ribeyes for his son and the offensive linemen if Hammond rushed for more than 200 yards against Monroe City. The senior delivered a 256-yard, four-touchdown performance in the Cardinals’ 59-6 victory last week at Charles Rash Memorial Field.

So the Cardinals ate well before heading into this week’s Clarence Cannon Conference matchup with Clark County. Both teams are 4-0.

Hammond and teammate Cameron Wiseman took time before the ribeye dinner this week to talk about the victory over Monroe City, staying focused on the task at hand and what is making South Shelby successful in this episode of “Schuck on a Truck,” brought to you by Area Distributors.
