Schuck on a Truck: QU coach Courtney Boyd discusses Hawks’ trip to NCAA Midwest Regional

QUINCY — A remarkable turnaround in the second year of Courtney Boyd’s tenure as the head coach of the Quincy University women’s basketball program means the Hawks are back on the national stage.

After winning the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament championship, the Hawks are returning to the NCAA Division II national tournament for the first time since 2016. Quincy drew the No. 8 seed and will face top-seeded Grand Valley State at 4 p.m. Friday in Allendale, Mich.

Before hitting the road, Boyd joined Muddy River Sports Editor Matt Schuckman on the tailgate of his pickup to discuss enjoying the moment, the program’s improvement and preparing for the NCAA Tournament for this episode of “Schuck on a Truck,” brought to you by Shottenkirk Toyota.
