EWING, Mo. — When Payton Miller made it home Friday night, she had some serious packing to do.

Saturday, she was off to Shelbina to compete in the Class 2 sectional track and field meet with the Highland girls track team. That night, she and her family headed to Springfield, Mo., to get prepared to play a practice round at Rivercut Golf Course ahead of the Class 2 state golf championships, taking place Monday and Tuesday.

The Highland senior is the lone girl in the 84-player field, having finished tied for 12th at districts with an 89.

Miller joined Muddy River Sports Editor Matt Schuckman on the tailgate of his pickup to discuss this opportunity, her golf game and her future as a Quincy University golfer for this episode of “Schuck on a Truck,” brought to you by Area Distributors.
