Schuck on a Truck: Central wrestling coaches discuss program, Summerfest, eating contest

CAMP POINT, Ill. — What better way to end the summer than with a celebration.

Saturday night at Bailey Park, that’s what the Central wrestling program and its supporters did.

Summerfest, a fund-raiser for the Panthers’ grapplers, brought the community together for music, food, drinks and fun in a lively and entertaining setting. A celebrity eating contest took place, too, with 10 participants guzzling chicken wings, nacho cheese chili dogs and donut holes in three rounds of competition.

The champion? Central Principal Zak Huston, who devoured the competition.

Central wrestling coach Kasey Monroe and his staff — Andrew Griffin, Dustin Griffin and Jonah Coggeshall — joined Muddy River Sports Editor Matt Schuckman to discuss the event, the growth of the Central program and Summerfest for an episode of “Schuck on a Truck.” Huston then joined the crew to celebrate his victory on the tailgate after the festivities were over.
