Three Culver-Stockton players named to all-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams
CANTON, Mo. — One softball player and two baseball players from Culver-Stockton College recently earned recognition on all-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams.
First baseman Tristan Meny and catcher Bryan Barreto both earned honorable mention accolades. Meny was named honorable mention for the second straight season, while Barreto was recognized for the first time.
Meny, a senior from Columbia, Mo., played and started in 44 of the 46 games played by the Wildcats this season, batting .328 with five doubles, six home runs and 24 runs batted in. He collected a team-best 45 hits and scored 29 runs.
In 31 conference games, Meny registered a .354 batting average with five doubles, three home runs and 15 runs batted in. He recorded 34 hits in 96 at-bats and scored 24 runs.
Barreto, a senior from Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, appeared in 43 of the 45 games, making 41 starts. He had a .313 batting average with 41 hits in 131 at-bats. He registered eight doubles, a home run and 24 runs batted in.
In league play, Barreto appeared in 31 of the 32 games, hitting .333 with seven doubles, one home run and 21 runs batted in.
The Wildcats ended the regular season with a 21-25 record.
Outfielder Kataleena Hunt earned honorable mention accolades for softball. She was named to the second team in 2024.
Hunt, a junior from Williamsfield, Ill., started all 50 games for the Wildcats this season, batting a team-high .315 with 15 doubles, one triple and four home runs. She led the team with 47 hits, 29 runs batted in, 22 runs scored and eight stolen bases.
In 24 conference games, Hunt also hit .315 with eight doubles, two home runs and 13 runs batted in. She recorded 23 hits in 73 at-bats and scored 11 runs.
The Wildcats ended this season with an 11-39 record and a 4-20 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
