Wiewel stays hot in QND baseball team’s blowout victory over Rushville-Industry

RUSHVILLE, Ill. — Abram Wiewel just keeps on slugging.
The Quincy Notre Dame senior belted a home run for the third straight game and went 4 for 5 with five RBIs in the Raiders’ 19-5 victory over Rushville-Industry on Monday.
Wiewel’s second-inning grand slam marked his fifth home run of the season, all of which have come in the last six games. Wiewel added a single in the fourth, an RBI base hit in the fifth and another single leading off a six-run seventh inning for the Raiders.
The top five spots in the Raiders’ lineup combined to go 18 for 32, and QND cranked out 22 hits as a team. Five different players recorded an extra base hit.
The Raiders (7-4) have now won five of their last six games and will face Pittsfield (11-2) on Wednesday.
