QUINCY — Registration is underway for the fourth annual Cardiac Classic golf tournament to benefit the Blessing Heart and Vascular Center and its patients.

The event will be held at Spring Lake Country Club on Friday, June 20, with registration from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The format is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided between 1:30 and 3 p.m. Entry fee is $400 per team.

The tournament has a limit on the number of teams that can play. To register, contact Braden at Spring Lake Country Club at 319-750-0055.

Craig Redmon, a former patient of the Blessing Heart and Vascular Center, and other friends and family of the late Raymond “Shocker” Schafer of LaGrange, Mo., created the Cardiac Classic to raise awareness of heart disease and support care provided by Blessing.

“Myself and my family have experienced the life-saving care available from Blessing first hand,” Redmon said in a press release. “We want to help keep this care on the cutting-edge and help others to realize that if heart disease strikes them, they have a great resource right here at home. That’s what participating in this golf tournament will accomplish.”
