QHS 4×800-meter relay team takes second for best finish at Class 3A track sectional in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON ­— The Quincy High School girls track team scored 38 points and finished in ninth place in the Class 3A sectional at Bloomington High School. Edwardsville took first with 81 points, followed by Belleville East (77.25) and Alton (71.25).

The Blue Devils’ best finish was when Anna Venvertloh, Peyton Kuhl, Danielle Vargas and Amick McClelland took second in the 4×800 meter relay with a time of 9:48.40.

Venvertloh took third in the 400-meter run with a time of 58.39 seconds. Kuhl took third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.78.

Marlee Thomas threw the shot 11.07 meters to place fourth.
