Palmyra beats South Shelby by 11 strokes to win Clarence Cannon Conference boys golf championship

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Palmyra boys golf team captured the Clarence Cannon Conference championship on Wednesday at Norwoods Golf Course.

The Panthers recorded a score of 318 to outpace South Shelby by 11 strokes. Centralia finished third at 333, and Monroe City was fourth at 350.

Macon’s Hagan Ritter was the medalist, shooting a 74. Palmyra’s Skeeter Kroeger was second with a 78, and three Panthers were tied for third with 80s — Preston Fuget, Gavin Greving and Abram Getz. Cole Schmitz of South Shelby also shot an 80.

Palmyra will be one of 18 schools participating in the Class 2 District 2 tournament on Monday at Norwoods.
