Palmyra boys golf team wins by four shots at South Shelby Invitational; Cardinals’ Gough loses medalist playoff
SHELBINA, Mo. — The Palmyra boys golf team edged South Shelby by four strokes to win the South Shelby Invitational at Lakeside Golf Course on Wednesday, and South Shelby’s Carson Gough lost to Macon’s Hagan Ritter in a playoff for medalist honors after both players shot 77s.
Palmyra’s Jonas Janes shot a 78 to finish third, and South Shelby’s Noah Wilt shot a 79 to place fourth. Palmyra had four players in the top nine, with Skeeter Kroeger shooting an 80, and Abram Gets and Tony White both scoring 81s.
Palmyra shot a 320, followed by South Shelby at 324, Canton at 346 and Monroe City at 348.
