Oliver hits two home runs to help Canton baseball team stretch winning streak to four games
PARIS, Mo. — Kaden Oliver hit two home runs and drove in four runs as the Canton baseball team homered four times and beat Paris 11-6 on Thursday.
Oliver, a junior center fielder, hit a solo home run with two outs to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning, four pitches after Cameron O’Brien got the Tigers on the board with a solo blast of his own.
Chase Kendrick homered to tie the game in the bottom of the second, but the Tigers scored nine unanswered runs, beginning with an Oliver RBI single in the fourth.
Brett Ehrenreich hit a three-run home run to extend the Tigers’ lead to 9-2 in the sixth, and Oliver hit a two-run shot in the seventh. The Coyotes scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Drew Gottman induced a pop out off the bat of Elliot Key with runners on first and third to end the inning.
Canton (11-4) has won four games in a row and will host Highland on Monday.
