SPRINGFIELD — Four Quincy Gems pitchers combined on a five-hitter in a 5-1 victory over the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes Thursday night in a Prospect League game at Robin Roberts Field.

The Gems (9-12) have won four straight games and are in second place in the Great River Division, trailing division-leading Clinton by 4 games.

Starter Philip Reinhardt allowed a run in the first inning but tossed three subsequent shutout innings. Carter Poole then allowed one hit over the next three innings and earned the victory. Connor Schwindeler and Dawson Flowers each pitched a scoreless inning to wrap up the victory for Quincy.

The Gems only collected eight hits, but four of them were by Quincy Notre Dame graduate Harry Oden, who drove in a run and scored two runs.

Easton Mains walked in the second inning and then scored when Otto Jones doubled and moved to third on an error by the Springfield second baseman. Jones scored when Oden singled to right.

Oden singled in the seventh and moved to second on Jimmy Koza’s walk. Both baserunners advanced a base on a wild pitch. Lucas Loos walked to load the bases, and Riley Black was hit by a pitch, allowing Oden to score. Koza scored on a fielder’s choice by Jack Zebig.

Oden singled to right with two outs in the eighth and scored on Joe Siervo’s double.
