Missouri S&T’s Schisler, Scott recognized on all-GLVC baseball team
ROLLA, Mo. — A Quincy (Ill.) Notre Dame graduate and a Hannibal High School graduate earned honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference when it announced its baseball awards on the eve of its postseason tournament.
Jake Schisler, a sophomore from Quincy, earned a spot on the All-GLVC second team. Schisler ended the regular season fourth in the GLVC in earned run average at 3.98. He pitched 61 innings and posted a 6-3 record with two complete games. He limited opponents to just 23 walks with 33 strikeouts and only 10 extra-base hits. His opponents batting average was the third-best in the conference at .219. His WHIP of 1.18 was the lowest on the Miners this season.
Junior catcher Keaton Scott of Hannibal was named the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honoree for Missouri S&T. Scott, who only played in two games this season, was one of 15 recipients. The league recognized Lincoln as its GLVC Baseball James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award team recipient. Recipients distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. They must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are eligible to become one of their school’s two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced in May.
