Jacoby wins seventh consecutive fight with first-round knockout at UFC event in New York
ELMONT, N.Y. — Former Quincy University quarterback Dustin Jacoby won his seventh consecutive fight on Saturday, knocking out Da-un Jung in the first round of their light heavyweight (205 pounds) bout.
After stinging Jung with a stiff jab midway through the first round, Jacoby launched a right hand that caught Jung on the temple and caused him to topple to the canvas in a heap. Jung rose and looked like he wanted to recover, but the referee stepped in for the stoppage as Jacoby was walking away.
Jung had won 15 consecutive fights before the loss to Jacoby.
Jacoby, 34, graduated from Concord Triopia High School in 2006. He earned a $50,000 bonus from the UFC for his one-punch knockout. He is 6-0-1 since returning to UFC in 2021.
