Highland boys capture four top-two finishes, place fourth as team at Class 2 District 3 track meet

GLASGOW, Mo. — Highland had one first-place finish and three second-place finishes to take fourth in the Class 2 District 3 boys track and field meet on Saturday afternoon at Glasgow High School.

The Highand boys’ 4×400 team of Briscoe Post, Tyler Seals, Porter Peters and Charlie Evans won in 3:38.98, and its 4×200 team of Evans, Christopher Gaus, Xavier Santiago and Lane Hinton placed second in 1:33.46. Lane Hinton took second in the 100-meter dash in 11.26 seconds, and Charlie Evans was second in the 400-meter days in 53.37 seconds.

Salisbury High School won the boys meet with 110 points, followed by Westran (99), Clark County (86.5) and Highland (66).  

Monroe City’s Wyatt DeGrave took first in the high jump (1.85 meters) and the triple jump (13.05 meters).

Mark Twain’s Mason Delaporte took first in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.92 seconds, and he was second in the 300-meter hurdles in 43.54 seconds. Teammate Sam Northcutt took second in the 800-meter run in 1:59.46.

South Shelby’s Owen Stueve was first in the long jump at 6.53 meters. Teammate Gabriel Brown won the javelin with a throw of 49.3 meters, and Aadon Magruder won the shot put with a throw of 15.67 meters.
