Gems collect 11 hits but score only three runs in loss to O’Fallon

O’FALLON, Mo. — The Quincy Gems pounded out 11 hits but scored only three runs in a 7-3 loss to the O’Fallon Hoots on Saturday night in a Prospect League game at CarShield Field.

Gems leadoff hitter Joe Siervo hit a home run to start the game, but the Gems didn’t score again until the sixth inning when Cross Jumper delivered an RBI single. Quincy’s only other run came in the eighth inning when Cam Suto homered.

Starter Ryan Foley took the loss, giving up nine hits and six runs in five innings. 

Jimmy Koza had three hits for Quincy (5-11), while Siervo and Suto had two each.
