Bunte has five hits, seven RBIs in first game as QND softball splits with Bloomington Central Catholic

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Caitlin Bunte had the game of dreams on Saturday.
The Quincy Notre Dame senior and University of Indianapolis commit went 5 for 6 with seven RBIs and hit for the cycle in the Raiders’ 15-4 victory over Bloomington Central Catholic in the first game of a doubleheader.
Bunte got the home run out of the way on her first swing of the day by launching a leadoff blast to begin the game. She reached on an error in the second, doubled in the third, and singled in the fifth and sixth.
Elise Sedovic and Natalie Zook singled with two outs in the seventh to bring Bunte to the plate one for her sixth plate appearance. Bunte wasted no time in lining a triple to left to complete the cycle.
The Raiders dropped game two of the doubleheader 8-1. Bunte went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI in that game, making her 7 for 9 with eight RBIs on the day.
