All’s Wells for the Blue Devils, who extend winning streak to four with shutout victory over Pittsfield
QUINCY — Noah Wells pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings, and Chase Saalborn picked up the final four outs for the save as the Quincy High School baseball team earned a 3-0 victory over Pittsfield on Thursday afternoon.
The victory is the fourth straight for the Blue Devils (6-10).
Wells allowed two hits and walked three. No Pittsfield batter advanced past second base.
Quincy took the lead in the third. James Day singled, and Gavin Fink walked. Kade Parkhill laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the baserunners up one base, and Day scored on Cameron Lawson’s bunt. Fink then scored on a wild pitch.
Quincy’s other run scored in the fifth when Day crossed the plate on an RBI single from Lawson.
Day was the only player in the game with two hits.
Draven Puterbaugh pitched well for the Saukees (12-4), allowing six hits, two walks and three runs in six innings.
