ACS Illinois state billiard championships return to Quincy March 15-19

QUINCY — The American CueSports Illinois State Association will have its 26th annual Illinois state pocket billiard championships in Quincy March 15-19. The event, presented by SeeQuincy, will be held at the Oakley-Lindsay Civic Center, 300 Civic Center Plaza.

Hundreds of amateur pool players from American CueSports Alliance Illinois League Systems will participate in various singles and team tournaments within the five-day event.  The event features two division non-sanction events open to all: a 2/2 sudden death tournament at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, and a 9-ball tournament at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 15

All other divisions, available to sanctioned ACS league members only, consist of the following:

  • Wednesday, March 15: Seniors 8-Ball
  • Thursday, March 16: Various 8-Ball divisions
  • Friday-Sunday, March 17-19: Team play
  • Saturday-Sunday, March 18-19: Illinois State Junior event

Hall of Famer and world artistic champion Tom “Dr. Cue” Rossman will display his trick shots in pocketing multiple combinations. Rossman will demonstrate the winning shots that propelled him to TV stardom and two world championships. A meet and greet will follow.

The event features billiard vendors, commemorative shirts for sale, massage therapists, a custom cue stick raffle, specials and giveaways. Other billiard activities will be at The Atrium on Third, 201 S. Third. The meet-and-greet Suds Mixer will be Friday night during team play.

The event is open to the public with free admission to spectators.

More than 120 pool tables will be provided by MPA Table Service of Minnesota. The championship awards are sponsored by SeeQuincy. Tournament direction is by the Greater Midwest Poolplayers Association.

The event will be streamed live by Rack-em Joe TV.
