Quincy High School 0, Jacksonville 0: Senior goalkeeper Grayson Cook and the defense shut down the Crimsons’ offense, but the Blue Devils struggled to generate scoring opportunities. QHS is 6-3-3 overall.
Girls Golf
At Deer Run Golf Course, Hamilton, Ill.
Quincy Notre Dame d. West Hancock: The Raiders shot a 194, while the Titans posted a 231. West Hancock’s Bliss Martin took medalist honors with a 39, while QND’s Hana Knuffman shot a 45 and Olivia Hummel posted a 48.
Girls Tennis
At Palmyra, Mo.
Palmyra 7, Columbia Father Tolton 2: Maura Gottman’s 8-1 victory at No. 2 singles jumpstarted the Panthers, who won four singles matches and swept the doubles matches. Abbey Mann and Jeorgia O’Brien punctuated the victory with a 9-7 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Prep Softball
At Ewing, Mo.
Highland 14, Hannibal 0: Payton Miller tossed a five-inning no-hitter, striking out seven as the Cougars backed her with an explosive offense. Haleigh Winter went 4 for 4 with three doubles, two runs scored and three RBIs, while MiKayla Dreyer went 4 for 4 with three runs scored. The Cougars have four of their last five games and are 7-10 overall. Hannibal drops to 4-13.
Women’s Volleyball
At Student Activity Center, Quincy
John Wood Community College d. Lewis & Clark: The Trail Blazers won their second region match of the season with a 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 25-18 victory. Erica Simmonds had nine kills and five blocks for JWCC, while Belinda Torres had 19 assists and four aces, Livia Perry finished with 12 digs and five aces. The Trail Blazers are 10-5 overall.
