Girls Volleyball

At The Hangar, Macomb, Ill.

Quincy Notre Dame d. Macomb: One night after handing Southeastern its first loss of the season, the Raiders made another statement by beating a potential postseason foe in straight sets with a 25-22, 25-19 victory. Emma Hoing led QND with nine kills, while Abbey Schreacke had eight kills and Annie Eaton dished out 15 assists. The Raiders are now 19-1, while the Bombers fall to 21-3.

Prep Softball

At Lions Field, Monroe City, Mo.

Monroe City 6, Highland 5: Panthers pitcher Kailynn Fuemmeler retired the final six Cougars in order to preserve the Clarence Cannon Conference victory. Highland scored twice in the fifth to make it a one-run game, but committed the final out of the inning trying to stretch a double into a triple. The Cougars didn’t get another baserunner. Mackenzie Moss went 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple, three runs scored and two RBIs for Monroe City, while Audri Youngblood went 3 for 4 with a triple. Haleigh Winter went 3 for 3 with two doubles and five RBIs for Highland.

At Mexico, Mo.

Mexico 13, Hannibal 3: The Bulldogs scored in each of the six innings and piled up 14 hits in the North Central Missouri Conference victory. Kylie McAfee, Alana Pfeifer and Chloe Simms each doubled for the Pirates’ three hits, while Simms scored twice.

Women’s Soccer

At Ellison Poulton Stadium, Canton, Mo.

Culver-Stockton College 3, Graceland 1: After the Yellowjackets trimmed a two-goal deficit in half by scoring less than four minutes into the second half, the Wildcats dug in defensively and Montse Caparros’ goal in the 84th minute cemented the Heart of America Athletic Conference victory. Isabella Arande and Kirstin Jannin each scored in the first half with Arande assisting on Jannin’s goal. Quinn Cusack set up Caparros’ goal. The Wildcats are 8-3 overall and 4-2 in the Heart.

Men’s Soccer

At Ellison Poulton Stadium, Canton, Mo.

Graceland 3, Culver-Stockton College 2: The Yellowjackets scored two minutes into overtime to snare the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The Wildcats trailed 2-1 until Benjamin Doncel scored off a Gabriel Fernandez assist in the 81st minute. Eduardo Garcia scored an unassisted goal early in the second half for C-SC. The Wildcats fall to 3-8 overall and 1-5 in the Heart.

Women’s Volleyball

At Belleville, Ill.

Southwestern Illinois College d. John Wood Community College: The Trail Blazers were swept 25-22, 25-21, 25-13. Paige Knuffman led JWCC with eight kills and nine digs, while Isadora Gasparini had 13 assists. JWCC is 13-9 overall.
