At Concord, Ill.
Class 1A Triopia Regional: Top-seeded Brown County waltzed its way into the regional championship with a 25-8, 25-18 victory over sixth-seeded Triopia. Katey Flynn led the Hornets with nine kills, five digs and two aces, while Klare Flynn had eight kills, three blocks and four digs and Gabby McGath had 22 assists and five digs. The Hornets (29-3) will face fourth-seeded Central at 6 p.m. Thursday in the title match. The Panthers beat Calhoun 27-25, 25-20.
At Payson, Ill.
Class 1A Payson Seymour Regional: Second-seeded Unity rolled into the regional championship with a 25-11, 25-8 victory over Payson Seymour. In the other semifinal, Liberty suffered a 24-26, 25-19, 25-18 loss to Brussels. Cora Schuette led the Eagles with 18 kills, nine digs and two blocks. Ally Lefringhouse had 22 assists and Kyla Frizzell finished with eight aces. Unity and Brussels will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the title match.
At Havana, Ill.
Class 1A Havana Regional: Top-seeded Southeastern advanced to the regional championship with a 25-22, 25-13 victory over Havana. Amanda Stephens led the Suns with 17 kills, while Taylor Wagner had nine. Ani Kerr dished out 27 assists, and Abigail Schaffer had 15 straight service points in the second set. The Suns (34-2) will face Lewistown at 6 p.m. Thursday in the title match.
Women’s Soccer
At Drost Field, Oskaloosa, Iowa
Culver-Stockton College 3, William Penn 0: Jody Ellis scored a pair of unassisted goals less than five minutes apart in the first half, propelling the Wildcats to the victory in their final Heart of America Athletic Conference road game of the regular season. Ellis scored in the 24th and 28th minutes. Kirstin Jannin scored off an Isabella Aranda assist in the 76th minute for the final goal. C-SC is 12-4-1 overall and 7-3-1 in the Heart and will close the regular season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday against Missouri Valley College at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
Men’s Soccer
At Drost Field, Oskaloosa, Iowa
William Penn 5, Culver-Stockton College 1: The No. 24 Statesmen scored twice in the game’s first 10 minutes, built a four-goal lead and were never threatened in the Heart of America Athletic Conference victory. Eduardo Garcia scored the lone goal for the Wildcats. C-SC fell 4-12 overall and 2-9 in the Heart.
