At Liberty, Ill.

Liberty 62, Pittsfield 34: The Eagles, ranked fourth in Class 1A, finished off the regular season with a dominant defensive effort. Liberty led 18-4 at the end of the first quarter after allowing just one field goal, and the Eagles allowed no more than 11 points in any quarter. Balanced scoring carried the Eagles’ offense as Logan Robbins finished with 13 points, while Clayton Obert had 11 and Breighton Klingele and Devin Klauser each had 10. Nate Scranton led the Saukees with seven points. Liberty is 24-5 heading into regionals, while Pittsfield is 12-11 after having a five-game win streak snapped.

At Warsaw, Ill.

Central 34, West Hancock 31: The Panthers avoided losing in the final seconds of regulation, then shut out the Titans in overtime to cap the regular season with a victory. The Panthers scored just three points in overtime as Isaac Genenbacher made two free throws and Nick Moore split a pair. Tied at 31, West Hancock took a timeout with 4.8 seconds remaining in regulation and possession, but the Titans couldn’t score. Genenbacher led Central with 12 points, while Alec Hymes had 18 points for West Hancock.

At Pleasant Hill, Ill.

Payson Seymour 69, Pleasant Hill 34: The Indians’ third consecutive victory gives them some postseason momentum, especially by following Tuesday’s victory over Class 2A Macomb with a dominant effort against the Wolves.

Men’s basketball

At Wheeler Activity Center, Peru, Neb.

Peru State 80, Culver-Stockton College 65: In the final road game of the regular season, the Wildcats trailed by only four points at halftime but shot 35 percent from the field and went 1 of 6 from 3-point range in the second half of the Heart of America Athletic Conference matchup. Jalen Blaize led the Wildcats with 21 points and Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor had 18 points, but the Wildcats had 15 turnovers and just six assists. C-SC is 14-13 overall and 5-13 in the Heart.

Women’s basketball

At Wheeler Activity Center, Peru, Neb.

Peru State 66, Culver-Stockton College 56: The Wildcats were eliminated from qualifying for the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament with the loss. Josie Landrum led the Wildcats with 15 points, while Addison Newbon had 12 points and seven rebounds. C-SC is 13-14 overall and 7-11 in the Heart.
