Women’s Soccer

At the Frontyard, Quincy

John Wood Community College 4, Parkland 0: In the first postsesason soccer game ever played on the JWCC campus, the Trail Blazers advanced to the semifinals of the Region 24 tournament. They will face top-seeded Heartland on Friday in Normal, Ill.

Alexis Miranda gave the Trail Blazers a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute when she scored off a Genesis Fu assist. Shirley Williams scored in the 28th minute off a Madison Meyer assist, and McKenna Little made it 3-0 in the 40th minute off a LaKayla Reeves assist. Meyer scored the only second half goal in the 67th minute off a Little assist.

Maddie Hill made six saves to record the shutout for the Trail Blazers (5-8-2).

Girls Volleyball

At Carthage, Ill.

Class 2A Illini West Regional: Top-seeded Quincy Notre Dame opened the postseason with a 25-22, 25-13 victory over Pittsfield. Abbey Schreacke led the Raiders with eight kills, while Emma Hoing had seven kills and Delaney Beard had four kills and six aces. Annie Eaton finished with 20 assists. QND will face Illini West at 6 p.m. Thursday in the regional final.

At Payson, Ill.

Class 1A Payson Regional: Liberty advanced to Wednesday’s semifinals with a 25-10, 25-21 victory over Pleasant Hill. Kenley Kurfman had 18 digs and seven aces for the Eagles, while Cora Schuette finished with seven kills and five digs. The Eagles will face third-seeded Brussels at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Boys Soccer

At Porter Stadium, Hannibal, Mo.

Hannibal 2, Troy 1: Kolin Westhoff made the fifth and final penalty kick to punctuate a shootout victory. Pirates goalkeeper Parker Terrill made two saves in the shootout. Maddex Tharp scored the Pirates’ lone goal in the first half. Hannibal ends the regular season with a 16-6-1 record.

Women’s Volleyball

At Charles Field House, Canton, Mo.

Mount Mercy d. Culver-Stockton College: Despite winning the first set, the Wildcats suffered a 22-25, 25-12, 25-20, 25-21 loss in Heart of America Athletic Conference action. Heliene Felipe led the Wildcats with 13 kills, while Madison McClain had 11 kills and 13 digs. C-SC is 9-18 overall and 5-11 in the Heart.
