At Moline, Ill.
Quincy High School 3, Moline 0: The Blue Devils opened Western Big 6 Conference play with the shutout. Breighlyn Thomas scored two goals and Taylor Routh addad a goal. Rian Moore dishes out two assists, with Bri Lannerd setting up the other goal. Taylor Fohey earned the shutout in the goal. QHS is 1-1 heading into its own tournament Friday and Saturday at Flinn Stadium.
At Porter Stadium, Hannibal, Mo.
Hannibal 7, Warrenton 0: Katie Greening scored two of the Pirates’ first three goals as they rolled in their season opener. Five different players scored for Hannibal. Freshman goalkeeper Ava Turner posted the shutout.
Prep baseball
At Mount Sterling, Ill.
Brown County 10, Pleasant Hill 0: The Hornets scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to finish off the Wolves. Mason Henry went 3 for 3 with two runs scored for Brown County, while Gavin Montgomery had a two-run triple and Tyce Fullerton drove in three runs. Gabe Blakeley earned the victory, allowing two hits while striking out 14.
Boys golf
At River Valley Golf Course, Canton, Mo.
Canton d. Schuyler County: The Tigers won the dual by posting a 214 team score. The Rams shot a 238. The Tigers’ Trevor Biggerstaff was medalist with a 42.
Men’s volleyball
At Charles Field House, Canton, Mo.
Graceland d. Culver-Stockton College: The Yellowjackets rebounded from losing the first two sets to hand the Wildcats a Heart of America Athletic Conference loss with their 23-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-13, 15-13 victory. Akeel Oxley led the Wildcats with 26 kills, and Owen Randle dished out 47 assists. C-SC is 5-18 overall and 4-14 in the Heart.
Women’s lacrosse
At Ottawa, Kan.
Quincy University 17, Ottawa 5: The Hawks led 6-5 at halftime but erupted for 11 second-half goals to improve to 4-4 overall. Danielle Robinson led the Hawks with six goals,, while Bianca Johnson added five. Josephina Szmanda had three goals and two assists. Kelly McClure made 18 saves.
At Poulton Stadium, Canton, Mo.
Wisconsin-Eau Claire 16, Culver-Stockton College 4: The Wildcats trailed 7-0 after the first quarter against the undefeated Blugolds. Sopheea Vomund had two goals for C-SC, which is 2-5 overall.
