Winchester Invitational Tournament

Petersburg PORTA-AC Central 57, Payson Seymour 41: The Indians were limited to just five points in the first quarter, trailed by 10 points at halftime and saw the Bluejays go 14 of 16 from the free-throw line in the quarterfinals. Riker Triplett led Payson with 11 points, while Aidan Perry added 10.

Central 55, North Greene 22: In the consolation bracket, the Panthers rebounded from the one-point loss to top-seeded Liberty by outsourcing the Spartans 14-8 in the first quarter and holding North Greene to one point in the second quarter. Keaton Dickhut led the Panthers with 24 points.

At Keokuk, Iowa

Hancock County Tournament

Illini West 57, Southeastern 23: The Chargers put themselves in control of the tournament championship chase as Trayton Anders scored 15 points and Nolan Deitrich added 12.

Keokuk 50, Unity 45: Ryle Duke and Gavin Koenig each scored 10 points for the Mustangs, while MJ Davis led the Chiefs with 15 points.

At Korf Gym, Hannibal, Mo.

Monroe City 60, Hannibal 39: The Pirates led by a point at halftime and were up by three midway through the third quarter before the Panthers locked down defensively. Monroe City outscored Hannibal 20-4 in the fourth quarter. Joshua Talton led the Panthers with 19 points, while Jaedyn Robertson had 14 points and Josiah Talton added 12. Aaris Stolte led the Pirates with 16 points, while Courtland Watson made four 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 12 points.

At Wentzville, Mo.

Palmyra 58, North Point 18: Bear Bock scored 22 points and Mason Roberts added 10 as the Panthers rolled. Palmyra had 11 players score while improving to 7-6.

Girls Basketball

At the Pit, Quincy

Quincy Notre Dame 63, Monroe City 21: The Raiders rebounded from their first loss of the season by rolling to a 42-8 halftime lead. Abbey Schreacke led the Raiders, ranked second in Class 2A with a 14-1 record, with 19 points, while Blair Eftink added 18 points. Taylor Pfaff led the Panthers with seven points.

At Camp Point, Ill.

CSE Classic

Illini West 45, Brown County 44: Reagan Reed’s 3-pointer off an inbounds play as time expired lifted the Chargers in a battle of state-ranked teams. Illini West, ranked fourth in Class 2A, trailed by four points at halftime and seven at the end of the third quarter before rallying as Caydee Kirkham and Reed each scored five points in the fourth quarter.

Down two with 4.3 seconds remaining, Reed caught the inbounds pass, took one dribble to her left while being guarded by the Hornets’ Gracie Hedden and hit a running 3-pointer off one foot to win the game. Hallie Ray led the Chargers (20-1) with 13 points, while Kirkham finished with 12 points. Klare Flynn led the Hornets, ranked seventh in Class 1A with a 17-3 record, with 19 points.

Unity 37, Central-Southeastern 32: The Mustangs, ranked third in Class 1A, overcame scoring just five points in the first quarter to advance to Thursday’s semifinal showdowns. Unity went 10 of 12 from the free-throw line, including 4 of 4 in the fourth quarter. Ashlynn Arnsman led the Mustangs with 11 points, and Sophia Shaffer added 10. Libby Ippensen led the Panthers, who were 5 of 11 from the free-throw line, with nine points.

Unity will face Brown County at 6 p.m. Thursday, while Illini West and Central-Southeastern square off at 7:30 p.m. The championship game is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

At Wentzville, Mo.

Palmyra 62, North Point 8: The Panthers cruised behind three players in double figures. Sydney Compton led Palmyra with 13 points, while Clare Williams had 12 points and Taytum White added 11.

At Canton, Mo.

Canton 57, Highland 37: Nariah Clay scored 21 points to power the Tigers to the victory in a battle of Lewis County teams. Canton scored 41 points in the first half. Morgan Keith led the Cougars with 10 points.

Men’s Basketball

At Marshalltown, Iowa

John Wood Community College 100, Marshalltown 90: The Trail Blazers ended a three-game skid by beating an NJCAA Division I program. Jarvis Jennings led the Trail Blazers with 37 points and 10 rebounds, going 12 of 14 from the free-throw line and 5 of 7 from 3-point range. Brandon Kracht added 19 points, and Latre Morrison had 18 points, going 9 of 13 from the field.

Prep Wrestling

At Petersburg, Ill.

Petersburg PORTA 51, Quincy Notre Dame 21: The Raiders’ Curtis Steinkmap picked one of QND’s three on-mat victories, beating the Bluejays’ Jayden Frainer 11-5 at 126 pounds. Taylin Scott pinned PORTA’s Hunter Strouish in 5:41 at 182, and Tristan Pritts won by injury default at 170.
