At Liberty, Ill.

Liberty 78, Western 39: The Eagles, ranked fifth in Class 1A, tuned up for a weekend showdown with Monroe City, the No. 1-ranked team in Missouri Class 3, by overwhelming the Wildcats and earning their 20th victory of the season. Cannen Wolf led the Eagles with 23 points, while Breiton Klingele added 17 and Logan Robbins added 15. Ethan Dixon led the Wildcats with 12 points.

At Payson, Ill.

Pittsfield 53, Payson Seymour 43: The Saukees grabbed the lead on Carter Klatt’s putback less than 30 seconds into the game and never trailed. The lead grew to 15-8 by the end of the first quarter and as big as 17 points in the second half. Nate Scranton led the Saukees with 12 points, while Klatt finished with 11 points and six rebounds. The Indians went 0 of 11 from 3-point range and were led by Riker Triplett with 10 points and Bryan Dieker with nine. Pittsfield is 8-11 overall, while Payson falls to 14-11.

At Mount Sterling, Ill.

Southeastern 56, Brown County 39: The Suns ripped off a 16-2 to start the game to knock off the Hornets. Junior forward Danny Stephens led Southeastern with 23 points, while Eli Leasman added 19 points. Brody Woodward scored 12 points for the Hornets.

At Carthage, Ill.

Illini West 69, West Prairie 41: Max Richardson scored 25 points as the Chargers won their fourth straight game and their second game in 24 hours before getting a couple days off before a Friday matchup with South Fulton. Trayton Anders added 10 points for Illini West.

At Kahoka, Mo.

Palmyra 71, Clark County 54: Bear Bock scored a season-high 30 points as the Panthers beat the snow and the Indians for a Clarence Cannon Conference victory. Bock added eight rebounds and five assists. Laydin Lochman had 11 points and six assists for the Panthers, who are 11-9 overall and 2-2 in the CCC.

At Ewing, Mo.

Highland 48, Keokuk 43: Trailing by six at the end of the third quarter, the Cougars’ defense turned the tide as they allowed just eight points over the final minutes — all to one player. The Chiefs’ MJ Davis was the only player to score in the frame and he finished with 19 points, 16 of them in the second half. Highland’s Drew Mallett did him one better. Mallett scored 17 of his game-high 24 points in the second half with 11 in the fourth quarter. Alex Meyer added 10 points for the Cougars.

At Augusta, Ill.

Central-Southeastern 55, West Prairie 13: The Panthers bolted to a 23-2 lead after the first quarter and allowed just four points through three quarters. Brilyn Lantz led C-SE with 15 points, while Lauren Miller added 10.

At Kahoka, Mo.

Palmyra 61, Clark County 37: The Panthers picked up another Clarence Cannon Conference victory by systematically pulling away from the Indians. Taytum White led Palmyra with 13 points, while Clare Williams had 12 points, Candra King added 11 and Abbey Redd chipped in 10.

At Charles Field House, Canton, Mo.

Missouri Baptist d. Culver-Stockton College: The 11th-ranked Spartans rolled to a 25-23, 25-16, 25-17 victory in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. Ashe Oxley led the Wildcats with 12 kills, while Owen Randle dished out 19 assists. C-SC is 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the Heart.
