At Sterling, Ill.

Quincy High School 10, Sterling 0: The Blue Devils stayed undefeated in the Western Big 6 Conference with the whitewashing of the Golden Warriors. Bri Lannerd scored two goals and added three assists for the Blue Devils, while Taylor Routh had two goals and Rian Moore added three assists. Freshman midfielder Sydney Welsh scored her first career goal for QHS, and Emori Will netted her first goal of the season. The Blue Devils are 4-0 in the WB6.

Boys golf

At Heritage Hills Golf Course, Moberly, Mo.

Moberly Invitational: Hannibal sophomore Quinn Thomas shot a 4-under 66 to take medalist honors and help the Pirates finish second with a 339 total. Westran won the team title with a 312. The Pirates’ Ashlin Sharkey finished sixth individually with a career-low 79.

Prep baseball

At Moline, Ill.

Moline 7, Quincy High School 4: The chance to take a significant stride toward a Western Big 6 Conference title eluded the Blue Devils when the Maroons scored six unearned runs in the third inning as Quincy committed three errors in the first six at-bats of the frame. The Blue Devils had built a 4-0 lead, getting back-to-back doubles from Grayson Cook and Noah Harbin to lead off the second and an RBI double from Sam Skirvin with two outs in the same inning. In the third, Cook delivered a two-run single. Luke Mettemeyer and Cook had two hits apiece, while Cook was saddled with the loss as he allowed one earned from and seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk. QHS is 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the WB6.

At Mount Sterling, Ill.

Brown County 14, Griggsville-Perry 4: The Hornets bounced back from their first loss of the season by scoring seven runs in the second inning and cruising to the five-inning finish. Eathan Howell went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs for Brown County, while Sam Carr and Mason Henry each had a two-run double in the second inning. Tyce Fullerton allowed one earned run and three hits over four innings with five strikeouts to earn the victory. Wyatt Lipcaman had two hits and scored two runs for the Tornadoes. The Hornets are 10-1 overall.

At Pittsfield, Ill.

Pittsfield 12, Southeastern 0: Nate Scranton tossed a five-hit shutout and helped himself by going 2 for 3 with a triple and two runs scored as the Saukees scored early and often. Pittsfield led 9-0 after two innings. Scranton struck out four and walked one. TJ Reel went 2 for 3 with a triple, a home run and five RBIs for the Saukees, while Konner Allen and Justin Pennock had two hits and two RBIs each. The Suns were limited to five singles. Pittsfield is 11-3 overall, while Southeastern is 3-5.

At Hamilton, Ill.

West Hancock 14, Unity 4: Alec Hymes went 3 for 3 with two home runs and six RBIs to power the Titans to the five-inning victory. Hymes had an RBI single in the seven-run first inning, hit a two-run homer in the third and jacked a three-run homer in the fourth. Jakeb Martens had a two-run double for West Hancock and Andrew Harness had two hits and two RBIs. Bryan Gerhardt struck out eight and allowed three earned runs to grab the victory. Bryson Muegge went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for the Mustangs, while Gage Bruns doubled twice and drove in two runs. The Titans are 7-1 overall.

At Beardstown, Ill.

Beardstown 14, Illini West 4: The Tigers scored 13 runs in the first three innings and ended the game in the fifth, taking advantage of four walks and nine errors. Ethan James homered and Drake Mudd had an RBI triple for the Chargers, while Jacob Pate went 2 for 3 with two doubles and four RBIs for the Tigers.

At Mount Sterling, Ill.

Brown County 3, Pleasant Hill 2: Savannah Rogers and Klare Flynn each had an RBI single in the second inning to give the Hornets the lead for good. Ava Wombles led off the game with a home run to give the Wolves the lead, but Cortni Law delivered an RBI double in the bottom of the first for the Hornets. Pleasant Hill tacked on a run in the sixth on a McKinley Lowe home run, but Brown County’s Taryn Moorman retired the final five batters she faced to preserve the victory. Moorman struck out five and allowed five hits. Lowe struck out nine and allowed nine hits for the Wolves. Brown County is 12-0.

At Mendon, Ill.

Rushville-Industry 7, Unity 3: The Rockets scored four runs in the top of the seventh to break a 3-3 tie and complete the rally after trailing 3-2 going to the sixth. Caroline Knox went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored for the Mustangs, while Kylee Barry went 2 for 4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs.

College softball

At Himsl Field, Canton, Mo.

Mount Mercy 5, Culver-Stockton College 0: Mustangs senior Jayna Witzany tossed a no-hitter in the first game of the Heart of America Athletic Conference doubleheader, striking out nine and walking five. A three-run second inning gave Mount Mercy control as the Mustangs collected 11 hits overall.

Mount Mercy 3, Culver-Stockton College 0: The Wildcats collected nine hits, but they couldn’t scratch across any runs in getting swept in the Heart twinbill. Alle Thompson and Katelyn Felt each had two hits for C-SC, while Emma Roseberry struck out 12 and allowed eight hits in taking the loss. The Wildcats are 13-13 overall and 9-13 in the Heart.

Women’s lacrosse

At Ellison Poulton Stadium, Canton, Mo.

William Penn 18, Culver-Stockton College 9: The Statesmen scored six goals in the second quarter to build a 10-4 halftime lead and made it last in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference victory. McKayla Nevarez finished with five goals and an assist for the Wildcats, who are 4-8 overall and 3-5 in the KCAC.
