Boys Soccer

At Lee Stadium, Springfield, Ill.

Quincy Notre Dame 3, Springfield 3: The Raiders twice surrendered the lead, resulting in their second draw of the season. The Senators scored the game-tying goal in the 71st minute. Tanner Anderson scored twice, converting a penalty kick in the 16th minute and finishing a Leo Cann assist for a 3-2 lead in the 63rd minute. Cann scored in the first half to give QND a 2-0 halftime lead. Springfield scored twice in the first 20 minutes of the second half, including just 30 seconds into the half. QND is now 7-1-2.

Girls Volleyball

At The Pit, Quincy

Quincy Notre Dame d. Liberty: The Raiders rolled to a quick 25-7, 25-6 victory. Junior middle hitter Abbey Schreacke with seven kills and four blocks, while freshman setter Annie Eaton had 12 assists, four aces and two kills for QND.

Girls Softball

At Flower City Park, Palmyra, Mo.

Monroe City 4, Palmyra 1: A two-out, two-run double by Mackenzie Moss gave Monroe City the necessary cushion to pick up a Clarence Cannon Conference road victory. Monroe City scored the first run in the fourth when Audri Youngblood walked and scored when Kailynn Fuemmeler reached on an error. 

Moss led off the top of the sixth with a double and scored on Adriona White’s groundout for a 2-0 lead. Palmyra answered in the bottom of the inning when Loman led off with a single, got to third with two outs and scored on a passed ball. A one-out single and two-out walk in the top of the seventh set up Moss’ game-clinching double.

Fuemmeler struck out six and walked none to earn the victory. Jazlin Gottman suffered the loss for Palmyra, striking out nine and walking three. Monroe City is now 4-3, while Palmyra falls to 5-3.

At the Cotton Bowl, Canton, Mo.

Canton 4, North Shelby 1: A three-run third inning propelled the Tigers to their seventh straight victory. Kenzie Guilfoyle’s RBI single plated the first run of the third inning before Kinsey Biggerstaff delivered a two-run single. Biggerstaff also had an RBI single in the fifth inning. Guilfoyle struck out eight, walked three and allowed just two hits in earning the victory.

At Brookfield, Mo.

Brookfield 4, Highland 3: The Bulldogs scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and got a walk-off RBI single with two outs in the seventh to pick up the Clarence Cannon Conference victory. Olivia Ritterbusch went 3 for 3 with a run scored for the Cougars, while Emma Harshberger went 2 for 4. Payton Miller struck out nine in suffering the loss, which dropped the Cougars to 1-7.

At Bowling Green, Mo.

Bowling Green 12, Mark Twain 1: A scoreless game into the fourth inning, the Bobcats exploded for the mercy rule victory. Autumn Arndt doubled and Taylor Martin drove in a run for the Tigers, who fall to 2-5.

Girls Tennis

At Reservoir Park, Quincy

Quincy Notre Dame 5, Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin 4: Trailing 4-2 after singles play, the Raiders swept the doubles matches to win the dual against their top sectional rival.

At No. 1 doubles, QND’s Lia Quintero and Olivia Ley beat SHG’s Agnes Cross and Madi McKay 6-4, 7-5. The Raiders’ Evie Schuetz and Addi Zanger outlasted Sophie Anderson and Brianna Huelsman 6-1, 3-6, 10-8, while No. 3 doubles, QND’s Ava Jacobsen and Aly Young scored a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Jacobson and Zanger won their singles matches in straight sets, while the Cyclones won three singles matches in tiebreakers.

At Illinois College, Jacksonville, Ill.

Quincy High School 9, Jacksonville 0: The Blue Devils lost only seven games in sweeping the six singles matches with No. 3 Audra Cain, No. 5 Mackenzie Carter and No. 6 Lilli Wallace each winning 6-0, 6-0. The Blue Devils won all three doubles matches 8-2 to improve to 2-2 in dual matches this season.

At Hannibal, Mo.

Hannibal 9, Moberly 0: Irelan Lomax won 8-0 at No. 3 singles as the Pirates completed the sweep. Emma Haner scored an 8-2 victory at No. 1 singles, while Lanie Privett and Brynn Burton each lost just one game in singles play. Haner and Gracie Martin won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.

At Fulton, Mo.

Palmyra 8, Fulton 1: The Panthers’ Abbey Mann and Jeorgia O’Brien outlasted their opponents at Nos. 5 and 6 singles to clinch the dual victory before going to doubles. Mann won 8-6 and O’Brien won 9-7. The Panthers lost only four games in the three doubles matches. Palmyra owns a 3-2 dual record.

Girls Golf

At Jackson Park Golf Course, Palmyra, Mo.

Quincy High School d. Palmyra: Blue Devils senior Laci Novosel shot a 32 to take medalist honors as QHS posted a 151 total. Palmyra shot a 181, 14 strokes better than any team score in match play this season. Mallory Comstock shot a 40 and Mallory Sublette posted a 41 for the Panthers.
