Great River Classic: Quincy Notre Dame opened the three-game showcase event with a 1-0 victory over Dunlap. Late in the first half, junior midfielder John Drew set up Tanner Anderson’s goal. Senior goalkeeper Ethan Sparrow posted the shutout. 

Girls Volleyball

At The Pit, Quincy

Quincy Notre Dame d. Western: Annie Eaton dished out nine assists as the Raiders won 25-12, 25-8. Abbey Schreacke finished with five kills and six aces, while Emma Borrowman had four kills.

At Liberty, Ill.

Liberty d. Beardstown: The Eagles picked up a 25-15, 25-17 victory as Madi Tritsch and Cora Schuette each had six kills.

Prep Softball

At Veterans Sports Complex, Hannibal, Mo.

Fulton 15, Hannibal 4: Alana Pfeifer went 2 for 33 with three RBIs, and Alyssa Hart was 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI as the Pirates lost the North Central Missouri Conference matchup. 

At Center, Mo.

Elsberry 5, Mark Twain 2: Audrey Ross and Taylor Martin each had a double and an RBI as the Tigers’ defensive miscues led to the loss. Freshman pitcher Bronwyn Harding allowed five unearned runs and eight hits while striking out three as Mark Twain fell to 7-14.

Women’s Tennis

At Reservoir Park, Quincy

Quincy University 7, Missouri Valley College 0: Laila Leist-Alston earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles and teamed up with Steffi Lao for a 6-0 victory in doubles as the Hawks opened Homecoming weekend with the victory. Lao also won her singles match 7-5, 6-2.
