At Concord, Ill.

Class 1A Triopia Regional: There’s nothing easy when it comes to making history.

Top-seeded Brown County won the first regional championship in program history by rallying from a one-set deficit to knock off fourth-seeded Central 16-25, 25-16, 25-23. It also is the first 30-win season in program history as the Hornets improve to 30-3.

The Hornets advance to the Greenfield Sectional and will face Raymond-Lincolnwood at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The sectional championship will be played at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Klare Flynn led the Hornets with 15 kills, five digs, two blocks and an ace, while Katey Flynn had 12 kills and 10 digs. Gabby McGath finished with 36 assists and six digs, while Cortni Law had seven kills, five digs and four aces.

At Payson, Ill.

Class 1A Payson Seymour Regional: Unity put an end to the Brussels athletic department with a dominant effort. The Mustangs rolled to the regional championship, winning 25-9, 25-13. Brussels will co-op with Calhoun in all sports moving forward.

The Mustangs advance to face Springfield Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the semifinals of the Greenfield Sectional. The sectional championship will be played at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Brooklyn Stiefel led the Mustangs with 17 service points, five aces and five kills. Kyra Carothers had 10 kills, while Taylor Nichols dished out 17 assists. Caroline Knox had eight digs, nine service points and one ace.

At St. Charles, Mo.

Class 4 Sectional: Hannibal saw its season end with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-12 loss to Lutheran St. Charles. Bella Falconer led the Pirates with nine kills, nine digs and two aces, while Nora Hark had six kills and seven assists and Lexi Wheelan had six digs. The Pirates finish with a 19-9-4 record.

Boys Soccer

At Columbia, Mo.

Hickman 3, Hannibal 0: The Pirates ended the regular season with a 16-7-1 record following the shutout loss. Third-seeded Hannibal opens Class 3 District 3 play at 11 a.m. Saturday against sixth-seeded Warrenton.
