Monroe City 58, Elsberry 50: The Panthers advanced to the championship game with three solid quarters of defense. Monroe City led 28-14 at halftime following a 20-point second quarter and took a 12-point lead to the fourth quarter. Joshua Talton led the Panthers with 21 points, while Josiah Talton added 15 as Monroe City went 23 of 34 from the line.

Rock Island 44, Quincy High School 36: Taylor Fohey scored 22 points for the Blue Devils, who fell in Western Big 6 Conference play.

At Mendon, Ill.

Unity 85, Rushville-Industry 6: Sophia Shaffer scored 20 points and Brooklyn Stiefel added 16 for the Mustangs, ranked third in Class 1A.

At Ewing, Mo.

Highland Tournament

Kirksville 49, Palmyra 39: The third-seeded Panthers will play in the third-place game after falling to the second-seeded Tigers, who took the lead midway through the first quarter and never surrendered it. Candra King led Palmyra with 16 points, and Taytum White added eight. The Panthers (7-3) will face Scotland County at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Canton 52, Knox County 26: Emma Hultz led the Tigers with 10 points and Nariah Clay added nine as Canton advanced to the consolation championship game.
