Culver-Stockton College 63, Graceland 51: A second-half surge offensively carried the Wildcats to a season sweep of the Yellowjackets in Heart of America Athletic Conference action. Trailing 26-25 at halftime, the Wildcats shot 44 percent from the field in the second half and went 11 of 12 from the free-throw line. C-SC also finished 10 of 20 from 3-point range. Meanwhile, Graceland was held to 29-percent shooting overall. Jalen Blaize led the Wildcats with 23 points, going 6 of 9 from 3-point range. Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Wildcats are 14-9 overall and 5-9 in the Heart.

Women’s basketball

At TRAC, Springfield, Ill.

Illinois-Springfield 61, Quincy University 43: The Hawks suffered their fourth straight Great Lakes Valley Conference loss as the offensive struggles continue. The Hawks shot just 35 percent from the field and went 3 of 15 from 3-point range. The Prairie Stars never trailed, bolting to a double-digit lead in the first quarter. Quincy committed 21 turnovers against just nine assists. Junior forward Sarah Nelson led the Hawks with 10 points and five rebounds, while Beth Matas Martin had nine points and six rebounds. The Hawks fall to 6-15 overall and 2-11 in the GLVC.

At Morden Center, Lamoni, Iowa

Culver-Stockton College 56, Graceland 44: Aaliyah Ortiz matched her career high with 17 points to lead the Wildcats to the Heart of America Athletic Conference victory. The Wildcats made seven 3-pointers in building a 38-24 halftime lead, which led to a season sweep of the Yellowjackets. Graceland turned the ball over 24 times. Laken Hugenberg had six rebounds and five steals for the Wildcats. C-SC improves to 12-11 overall and 6-8 in the Heart.
