At Warren Turner Field, Joplin, Mo.

Quincy University 6, Missouri Western 5: Trailing 4-2 entering the ninth inning, the Hawks engineered a two-run rally to force extra innings, then scored twice in the top of the 10th to give Matt Schissel his first victory as QU’s coach. A pair of walks and a one-out single by Brock Boynton loaded the bases before Nolan Wosman and Dayson Croes drew back-to-back, run-scoring walks to tie the game. In the 10th, Lance Logsdon, who led off with a single, scored on a throwing error and Luke Napleton scored on a passed ball. Griffin Kirn earned the victory in relief, allowing one hit over five scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts and one walk. Alex Pribyl worked the 10th to earn the save.

At Carnes Field, Henderson, Tenn.

Culver-Stockton College 6, St. Francis 4: The Wildcats scored three times in the seventh inning to snare an insurmountable lead. Two sacrifice flies, three walks, a wild pitch, a balk and an RBI single by Bowin Davisson resulted in three runs. Three C-SC pitchers combined to strand 12 St. Francis runners on base with Clay Street earning the victory with four innings of relief. Jordan Isham worked a scoreless ninth for the save. Andrew Fay and Davisson each had two hits for the Wildcats.

At Gahnstrom Field, Topeka, Kan.

Emporia State 7-6, Quincy University 6-1: The Hawks fell to 0-5 after being swept. In the opener, the Hawks rallied with four runs in the fifth inning to tie the game, but they allowed the winning run to score in the bottom of the seventh on a fielder’s choice. QU’s Audrey Hermann went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, while Bailey Mitchell had a two-run double in the fifth. In the nightcap, Mitchell went 2 for 3 and scored the Hawks’ lone run after doubling with two outs and being driven in with a single by Casey Brennan.
