Class 5 District 4

Hannibal 6, North Point 1: Pirates right-hander Aaris Stolte fashioned a five-hitter, allowing just one unearned run as fourth-seeded Hannibal advanced to the district semifinals. The Pirates (19-11) will face top-seeded Fort Zumwalt East at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Stolte struck out three and walked three. He helped himself by going 2 for 4 with two runs scored in the leadoff spot. The Pirates took control with a four-run first inning, scoring all their runs with two outs. Colton Dryden drove in two runs with a single, and Braysen Douglas added an RBI single. Douglas finished 2 for 3.

At Shelbina, Mo.

Class 3 District 6

Palmyra 11, Monroe City 9: A six-run third helped Palmyra erase a 5-1 deficit, and it used back-to-back two-run innings in the fifth and sixth to put the game out reach. Monroe City tried to rally in the seventh, scoring twice before a fly ball ended the game. Top-seeded Palmyra (11-10-1) will face second Clark County at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the district championship. After allowing Monroe City to score in each of the first three innings, Palmyra got rolling in the bottom of the third as Alex Wilson’s RBI single for the six-run uprising started and Nolyn Richards capped it with a two-run home run. Ethan Tallman’s two-run single in the fifth gave Palmyra a 9-7 lead and Adam Goodwin and Richards had RBI singles in the sixth. Landyn Smith allowed one earned run over the final 3 ⅔ innings to earn the victory.

At Mount Sterling, Ill.

Class 1A Brown County Regional

Liberty 6, Unity 2: Clayton Obert’s two-run single in the seventh helped the Eagles cement their regional quarterfinal victory. Silas Mixer went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored for Liberty, while Landon Deege scattered four hits, allowed two runs and struck out six in a complete-game victory. The Mustangs finish the season 8-11. Liberty advances to face top-seeded Brown County at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

At Macomb, Ill.

Class 2A Macomb Regional

Monmouth-Roseville 2, Illini West 1: Trailing by two runs in the sixth inning, the Chargers scored one run to cut the deficit in half and got the tying runner on base in the seventh inning, but stranded him at third base. Logan Kissinger led off the sixth for Illini West, and pinch-runner Tre Neiderman went to third on a sacrifice and scored on a passed ball. In the seventh, Shawn Watkins walked with two outs before stealing second and third. The game ended with a groundout. The Chargers were limited to one hit in the loss.

Class 1A Central Regional

Unity 10, Southeastern 5: A five-run first inning propelled the Mustangs to the regional quarterfinal victory and a spot opposite second-seeded Pleasant Hill in Wednesday’s semifinals. Sophia Shaffer led off the game with a triple and scored on Caroline Knox’s triple. Ashlynn Arnsman’s single plated Knox, while Kylee Barry had an RBI triple and Annabelle Schaffnit and Brooklyn Stiefel each had an RBI double in the first inning. Knox, Stiefel and Barry each had three hits, while Shaffer, Arnsman and Schaffnit each had two hits.
