Palmyra 76, Canton 53: Mason Roberts scored 11 points in the third quarter as the fourth-seeded Panthers outscored the fifth-seeded Tigers 22-8 in the frame. Roberts finished with a game-high 19 points. Bear Bock added 16 points and Laydin Lochman chipped in 15 points for the Panthers (8-7). Kyle Frazier and Dalton Berhorst led the Tigers with 13 points apiece.

Monroe City 89, Mark Twain 38: A balanced-scoring effort carried the top-seeded Panthers through the first round matchup with the Tigers. Five Monroe City players finished in double figures with Jaedyn Robertson scoring 15 points and Cade Chapman adding 13. Josh Brothers led Mark Twain with 12 points.

At Carthage, Ill.

Jerry Logan Shootout

Illini West 63, Monmouth-Roseville 42: A 26-point second quarter carried the Chargers, ranked third in Class 2A, to the victory in the final game of their own shootout. Caydee Kirkham scored 11 points in the quarter and finished with 26 points. Reagan Reed and Josie Bryan each added eight points as the Chargers improved to 23-1.

Unity 65, Macomb 33: Brooklyn Stiefel led the Mustangs with 26 points and Kyra Carothers had 11 points as Unity bounced back from the loss in the CSE Classic championship game.

At Palmyra, Mo.

Tony Lenzini Tournament

Palmyra 62, Van-Far 44: The top-seeded Panthers outscored the Indians 14-5 in the second quarter and cruised to the opening-round victory. Candra King led Palmyra with 27 points, while Sydney Compton had 12 points.

Highland 47, Mark Twain 31: The Cougars limited the Tigers to 11 points in the first half and were never threatened. Ansley Bringer led Highland with 15 points, while Ali Reed added 13 points. Anna Echternacht led the Tigers with 11 points.

Prep wrestling

At Pittsfield, Ill.

Pittsfield Triangular: Pittsfield’s Mason Davis won his 100th career match, while Quincy Notre Dame captured a pair of dual victories. The Raiders beat the Saukees 45-18 and topped Illini West 48-18. Against the Saukees, the Raiders’ Ian Lynch (152) won by pin and Taylin Scott (182) won an overtime decision. Davis won by pin in 38 seconds at 170, and the Saukees’ Luke Archer won by pin at 138. In the dual against Illini West, the Raiders won eight matches by forfeit. The Chargers won the three on-mat matches with Jacob Carpenter (138) and Lance Belshaw (152) winning by pin and Shawn Watkins (160) won by decision.
