At Hardin, Ill.

Central 56, Calhoun 21: Tied at 14 at halftime, the state-ranked Panthers overwhelmed the Warriors in the third quarter and ran away with the victory. Sterling Stotts scored on a 1-yard run and a 12-yard run on the first two possessions of the second half, while defensive lineman Keaton Dickhut intercepted a pass and returned it 50 yards for No. 4 Central’s third consecutive touchdown. Issac Genenbacher added a 13-yard touchdown reception. The Panthers are 8-1 overall.

At Mendon, Ill.

Unity-Payson 32, Winchester West Central 29: The Mustangs improved their playoff seeding by knocking off the Cougars in the Western Illinois Valley Conference crossover matchup. Unity took a 26-22 lead with 1:22 left in the third quarter when Riker Triplett fell on a fumble in the end zone after the snap had gone over the West Central punter’s head. Bryan Dieker then caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Ryle Duke with 1:28 remaining in the fourth quarter for a 32-22 lead. Duke threw for 208 yards with Dieker catching five passes for 112 yards. The Mustangs are 6-3 overall.

At Mount Sterling, Ill.

Carrollton 50, Brown County 14: The No. 1-ranked Hawks won their eighth straight game, while the Hornets limp into the playoffs having lost four of their last five games. Gabe Blakeley returned an interception 47 yards for a touchdown for Brown County’s only score of the first half. The Hornets are 5-4 overall.

At Pittsfield, Ill.

Williamsville 44, Pittsfield 16: The Saukees’ bid to reach the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade fell short. The Bullets scored the game’s first 38 points as they won their eighth straight game. Mason Pherigo had a 35-yard touchdown run and Jason McKee had a 2-yard scoring run for the Saukees, who finish with a 4-5 record.

At Louisiana, Mo.

Mark Twain 40, Louisiana 13: The Tigers finish the regular season 8-1 by scoring 28 points in the second half and turning a 12-7 game into a rout. Dawson Talbott, who caught a 47-yard touchdown pass in the first half, scored twice in the second half, while Landon Moss and Lakoda Preston also had touchdown runs.

At Centralia, Mo.

Centralia 12, Palmyra 0: Centralia showcased its defense in a traditional Clarence Cannon Conference slobberknocker. Palmyra heads into districts with a 4-5 record.

Women’s Volleyball

At Meyer Sports Center, Bolivar, Mo.

Quincy University d. Southwest Baptist: Sarah Brown had 14 kills and no attack errors as the Hawks won their fifth straight match, beating the Bearcats 25-18, 25-16, 25-18. Makayla Knoblauch had 34 assists, and Kailey Owsley had 10 digs. The Hawks are 12-10 overall and 6-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

At Charles Field House, Canton, Mo.

Central Methodist d. Culver-Stockton College: The No. 10 Eagles rolled to a 25-11, 25-12, 25-22 victory in Heart of America Athletic Conference action. Madison McClain led the Wildcats with 11 kills. C-SC is 8-17 overall and 4-10 in the Heart.
