At Liberty, Ill.

Liberty 57, Brown County 52: A 20-point lead at the end of the third quarter got uncomfortably tight near the end as the Hornets rallied. The fifth-ranked Eagles used their balance and experience to win their fourth straight game. Breiton Klingele led Liberty with 14 points, while Cannen Wolf and Devin Klauser each had 11 and Clayton Obert scored 10. The Eagles are 19-4.

At Payson, Ill.

Southeastern 58, Payson Seymour 40: Aidan Perry’s 3-pointer at the first-half buzzer kept the Indians within six points and it stayed close until the fourth quarter.

At Mendon, Ill.

Peoria Quest 84, Unity 65: The Gators pulled away in the second half to grab the victory as Kahmr Dailey scored 20 points. Melvin McMillen led the Mustangs with 21 points and Cody Shaffer added 19.

At Camp Point, Ill.

Macomb 42, Central 40: Down seven at the start of the fourth quarter, the Panthers made a charge as Nick Moore drained three 3-pointers in the final frame. The Bombers made just enough free throws — 3 of 8 — to hold on. Moore finished with 14 points and Isaac Genenbacher added 12 for the Panthers. Connor Watson led Macomb with 15 points. 

At Griggsville, Ill.

Illini West 49, Griggsville-Perry 41: The Chargers scored only five points in the first quarter, but a strong second half and clutch free-throw shooting allowed them to win on the road. Illini West went 8 of 11 from the line in the fourth quarter. Trayton Anders led the Chargers with 15 points. Tate Kunzeman had 13 points for the Tornadoes.

At Ashland, Ill.

PORTA/A-C Central 59, Pittsfield 48: The Saukees scored just nine points in the fourth quarter as the Bluejays turned a two-point edge at the end of the third quarter into a comfortable advantage at the end. Carter Klatt led the Saukees with 16 points and TJ Reel added 11.

At Barry, Ill.

Western 67, Pleasant Hill 35: The Wildcats won their homecoming game with balanced scoring. Mason Smith led Western with 21 points, while Ethan Dixon had 15 points, Casen Tobias added 12 and Cayden Fesler had 10 points. Bryan Pults led the Wolves with 10 points.

At Palmyra, Mo.

Macon 47, Palmyra 39: A four-point first quarter put the Panthers in catch-up mode, and the Tigers went 6 of 8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to win the Clarence Cannon Conference matchup. Bear Bock led Palmyra with 16 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. Tyler Banta added nine points, five rebounds and four assists. 

At Center, Mo.

Mark Twain 72, Marion County 53: Freshman Sam Northcutt scored 21 points as the Tigers improved to 4-1 at home this season. Lukas McCleod and Josh Brothers both scored 15 points, while Northcutt and Brothers finished with double-doubles.

At Palmyra, Mo.

Palmyra 61, Macon 34: The Panthers made quick work of the Clarence Cannon Conference victory by getting everyone involved. Candra King led four Panthers in double figures with 14 points, while Clare Williams had 13 points and Sydney Compton and Taytum White each had 10.

At Center, Mo.

Marion County 55, Mark Twain 31: Delaney Straus led the Mustangs with 20 points as they improved to 14-3.

At Monroe City, Mo.

Monroe City 36, Hannibal 34: Mackenzie Moss made two free throws with 2.3 seconds remaining to lift the Panthers. Monroe City went 6 of 6 from the line in the fourth quarter and 10 of 15 overall. Moss finished with 10 points.

Prep wrestling

At Geneseo, Ill.

WB6 championships: Quincy High School placed sixth in the eight-team league with 73.5 points as four Blue Devils finished in the top four in their respective weight classes. Geneseo’s Harrison Neumann beat Quincy’s Kayden Garrett 6-5 in the title match at 170 points, scoring the go-ahead point in the final seconds of the third period. The Blue Devils’ Eli Roberts finished third at 126, beating Rock Island’s Dominick Eckman-Allred 8-5. Bryor Newbold finished third at 182 with a 16-1 technical fall over Sterling’s Chase Ullrich. Dylan Becker took fourth at 132.
