At Ferd Niemann Jr. Memorial Ballfield, Quincy

Quincy Notre Dame 4, Unity 0: Ben Kasparie tossed five shutout innings, and Tucker Tollerton followed with two scoreless frames as the Raiders ran their winning streak to eight straight games. Kasparie allowed two hits while striking out four and walking none. Tollerton allowed three hits and struck out three with no walks. Scoreless through three innings, the Raiders took the lead in the fourth when Dalton Miller led off with a single and scored on Alex Connoyer’s double. In the fifth, the Raiders scored three times, getting RBI doubles from Tollerton and Connoyer. QND is 17-2 overall. Cody Shaffer had two hits for the Mustangs and struck out five over five innings.

At QHS field, Quincy

Quincy High School 7, Beardstown 6: The Blue Devils rallied with five runs over the final three innings, including scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh to rally for the victory. After the Tigers scored twice in the top of the seventh as the first four batters reached safely, the Blue Devils trailed 6-5 but loaded the bases with no outs as Noah Harbin singled, Joe Schroeder walked and Sam Skirvin singled. Raulin Zanger followed with a single to score Harbin, but Schroeder was thrown out at the plate for the first out of the inning. Logan Eaton was intentionally walked, and Kenny Taylor grounded into a fielder’s choice for the second out. Connor Schwindeler’s ground ball was misplayed by the shortstop, allowing the winning run to score. Taylor and Harbin each had two hits. Sam Skirvin got the final two outs in the seventh to earn the victory.

At Lenz Field, Jacksonville, Ill.

Brown County 5, Greenfield/Northwestern 1: The Hornets positioned themselves to win the Western Illinois Valley Conference championship by scoring in each of the final three innings. Gabe Blakeley’s two-out RBI single in the fifth gave the Hornets the lead, and three runs in the sixth, highlighted by Hayden Weise’s two-run double, extended the advantage. Mason Henry’s RBI groundout in the seventh sealed the victory. Blakeley allowed one run and four hits with eight strikeouts over seven innings. Gavin Montgomery and Eathan Howell had two hits apiece for Brown County, which is 17-1 overall.

At Pittsfield, Ill.

Pittsfield 2, Louisiana 1: After trading runs in the first two innings, neither team scored until the bottom of the seventh when the Saukees loaded the bases with one out and Konner Allen delivered a walk-off RBI single up the middle to score Nate Scranton with the winning run. Allen pitched a three-up, three-down seventh to earn the victory as well. Brennan Tomhave worked the first six innings for Pittsfield, allowing one unearned run and two hits while striking out eight. Scranton went 3 for 4, while Nolan Daniel and Allen each had two hits.

At Rushville, Ill.

Rushville-Industry 10, Illini West 4: The Rockets scored in every inning while limiting the Chargers to just three hits. Illini West’s Bradyn Robertson went 2 for 2 with a two-run home run, while Ethan James added a single. Four Chargers pitchers combined to allow 10 hits but just four earned runs.

At Hamilton, Ill.

West Hancock 9, Southeastern 3: The Titans scored all nine runs in the first three innings, building a cushion the Suns couldn’t overcome despite a late-inning rally. The Titans finished with 19 hits — 18 singles — with Bryan Gerhardt going 3 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Adam Harness and Gage Scott both going 3 for 4. Colin LeMaire allowed one run and three hits over six innings while striking out seven. Kyle O’Neal went 2 for 3 for the Suns.

At Moberly, Mo.

Hannibal 4, Moberly 1: The Pirates scored four runs in the third inning and received stellar pitching performances from Tanner VanWinkle and Kane Wilson to cement the North Central Missouri Conference victory. VanWinkle went 5 ⅓ innings, allowing one run and six hits with eight strikeouts and four walks. Wilson worked the final 1 ⅔ innings without allowing a run or a hit. In the third inning, Thomas Janes led off with a single, Keaton Scott walked and Aaris Stolte followed with an RBI single to left field. Wilson then jacked a three-run home run to left field. Scott, Stolte and Wilson each finished with two hits.
