College women’s lacrosse
At QU Stadium
Indianapolis 22, Quincy University 1: Patricia Chavira scored the only goal of the game for the Hawks, who were no match for the No. 2-ranked Greyhounds in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game. Chayira scored with 4:25 left in the game when QU (5-8, 1-4 GLVC) trailed 22-0. Indianapolis (14-1, 5-0 GLVC) scored nine goals in the first 5:03 of the game and never was challenged.
At Davenport, Iowa
Saint Ambrose 17, Culver-Stockton 2: The Wildcats’ season came to an end in the quarterfinals of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The Wildcats improved their win total for the third straight season, finishing with a 4-9 record. The Wildcats allowed the Bees to score the first nine goals of the game before McKayla Nevarez found the back of the net just before halftime. Nevarez scored again at the start fo the second half to cut the deficit to 9-2, but the Bees then scored eight unanswered goals. The Bees outshot the Wildcats 49-8. Nevarez finished the season with a team-leading 33 goals and 38 points.
College men’s lacrosse
At QU Stadium
Lewis 10, Quincy University men 2: The Hawks allowed just four goals in the first half but gave up five in the third quarter in the Great Lakes Valley Conference loss. John Jennings scored the first goal for QU (4-9, 0-5 GLVC) in the second quarter, then assisted on Jordan Ernst’s goal with 10:59 to play in the fourth quarter. Ryan Riggs had 11 saves for the Hawks.
College men’s volleyball
At Worthen Arena, Muncie, ind.
Ball State 3, Quincy University men 0: The Hawks’ season came to an end in the first round of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association tournament. Manuel Hernandez, Nathan Lawton and Eddie Jakubauskas all had four kills each to lead the Hawks (4-19). Jonas Holzinger led QU with 13 assists, and Jakubauskas led the Hawks with six digs.
