QUINCY — The Western Illinois Fellowship of Christian Athletes annual area banquet will be held at 2 p.m. April 16 at Quincy University.

Keynote speaker will be Les Steckel, president of FCA. He will be joined by Patric Young, a former Florida Gators basketball player.

Steckel coached college and pro football for 27 years. He coached five years with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans, where he helped lead them to Super Bowl XXXIV. Steckel became president of FCA after taking time off to coach his son’s high school football team. His book, One Yard Short, tells the story of his faith and how his relationship with God was a part of his coaching career and life afterwards.

Young is a former Florida Gators basketball player and SEC defensive player of the year. He played six seasons overseas before joining ESPN as a studio host for the SEC Network. Young was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident last June. He will share an inspirational message about not letting his injury defeat him.

There is no cost to attend and will feature desserts, ice cream and coffee.

Reservations are required and can be made by going to the registration link by clicking here.

The ministry of Western IL FCA is 100% donor supported. The annual banquet is the largest fundraiser for the year.
