BURLINGTON, Iowa — Sage Stratton’s remarkable start to her prep career — three seasons, three state trophies — now includes a prestigious individual honor.

The sophomore tied a Quincy Notre Dame girls soccer program single-half record.

Saturday, during an 7-1 victory over Burlington, Stratton assisted on four first-half goals, while scoring one herself. The midfielder matched the record for assists in a half set by Cassidy Foley in a 6-3 victory over Rock Island Alleman in the Class 1A sectional semifinals in 2013.

Cassidy Foley, who finished with five assists and a goal in that game, shares the single-game assist record with her sister, McKenzie, who had five assists in an 11-1 victory over Keokuk, Iowa, in 2014.

The Raiders (8-2) scored three times in the first 20 minutes against the Grayhounds with Makayla Patton converting a Stratton assist in the fifth minute, Stratton scoring off a Lilly Schuette assist in the 15th minute and Avery Keck netting a Stratton assist in the 19th minute.

Stratton also assisted on goals by Anna Keck in the 24th minute and Lia Quintero in the 35th minute. Schuette’s goal in the 39th minute made it a 6-0 halftime lead.

Rayleigh Huff scored off an Addie Flesch assist in the second half as QND outshot Burlington 24-2.
