QUINCY — Once Chicago St. Rita’s trio of NCAA Division I commits took over, Modesto (Calif.) Christian couldn’t flip the fleeting momentum back in its favor.

Trailing by 16 points at halftime and as many as 24 points in the third quarter, St. Rita chiseled the deficit to just five points with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. A 9-2 run with Iowa State commit Nojus Indrusaitis scoring five points and Illinois commit Morez Johnson the other four gave the Mustangs the lead.

They carried the momentum into overtime, scoring 19 points in the extra four minutes to pull out an 80-72 victory in the final game of Friday night’s session of the fifth Quincy Shootout at Blue Devil Gym.

St. Rita turned a one-point lead into a six-point edge in overtime with Johnson converting a three-point play and James Brown, a North Carolina commit, scoring on a layin. Indrusaitis finished off the comeback with a dunk.

Indrusaitis led the Mustangs with 27 points, while Johnson finished with 19 and Brown had 10. Jalen Brown scored 26 points for Modesto Christian, while B.J. Davis finished with 18.
