Quincy Shootout: Huntington Prep breaks single-game scoring record in event’s final contest

QUINCY — None of the Huntington Prep boys basketball players knew it at the time, but it didn’t take long after the 88-67 victory The Burlington School for word to spread the Express had broken the Quincy Shootout’s single-game scoring record.

A 29-point first quarter will put you on the path to that.

Huntington Prep drained six 3-pointers in the first quarter and got 10 points from Larry Johnson, setting the tone in the last nine games played Saturday at Blue Devil Gym. The Express’ Mica Johnson scored 26 points, knocking down seven 3-pointers, while Larry Johnson finished with 19 points.

Josh Randolph led the Burlington School with 14 points.
