MENDON, Ill. — Opportunistic or powerful describes the Quincy Notre Dame softball team’s offense depending on the situation.

In the first inning of Tuesday’s West Central Conference game against Unity, the Raiders seized the moment as Brooke Boden followed an error that put runners at the corners by stroking a two-run double to right field.

In the final two innings of a 10-0 victory, the Raiders flexed their muscle. Sophomore hurler Caitlin Bunte blasted two home runs and senior shortstop Abbey Schreacke roped an RBI double as QND outhit Unity 12-2.

Bunte went 3 for 5 with three RBIs and three runs scored, while Laela Hernadez-Jones, Payton Stupavsky and Boden each collected two hits.

Bunte also earned the victory in the circle, striking out eight and allowing two hits over six innings. Boden pitched the seventh inning, striking out the side. Sophia Shaffer and Brooklyn Howell each had a single for the Mustangs.
