FULTON, Mo. — Jake Schisler made certain the wind wasn’t a factor.

Meanwhile, his teammates took advantage of pitchers who couldn’t keep the ball down.

Schisler, the junior right-hander on the Quincy Notre Dame baseball team, tossed a two-hit shutout in an 11-0 victory over Fulton as the Raiders swept a pair of games Saturday in the Fulton Slam at Darrell Davis Field.

QND won its opener 26-13 against Kirksville.

Schisler struck out nine, walked only one and gave up just two singles in his second quality start of the season. Only three balls were hit out of the infield.

It helped when the offense gave him the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first, including his two-out RBI single. In the third, the Raiders plated four runs with Schisler delivering an RBI single and Brady Kinghart jacking a three-run home run to left field.

A five-run fourth inning featured another RBI single from Schisler as well as a two-run single from Michael Stupavsky.

Schisler finished 3 for 3, while Alex Connoyer went 2 for 2 with three runs scored and Kindhart and Stupavsky each had two hits.

In the first game against Kirksville, the Raiders scored six runs in the top of the first, fell behind 10-9 after the fourth and responded with eight runs in the fifth inning and nine more in the sixth.
